Grand Prix Tours is once again heading to Budapest and the Hungaroring for the Hungarian Grand Prix. Budapest (pronounced ‘Boo-Da-Pesht’, not ‘Boo-Da-Pest’) is the capitol of Hungary and the most populated city in the country. The city has a long and tumultuous history, however; in modern times it has grown to be one of the fastest growing cities in Europe and a haven for art, education, and of course motorsports. Guests coming from North America will find it is roughly a 10 hour flight from New York and a 14 hour flight from Los Angeles.
The Hungaroring is located just outside Budapest in the town of Mgyorod, Hungary. The circuit now ranks third in the most visited attractions in Hungary. The track has hosted a Formula 1 Grand Prix every year since it was built in 1986. The circuit has a total length of 2.72 miles or 4.38 kilometers. There are a total of 14 turns, 8 to the left and 6 to the right. There is a total elevation change of 113 feet or 34 meters during the lap. Turn 1 and turn 3 are both up-hill right handers that are very good overtaking zones. The first 4 turns at the Hungaroring are as exciting and entertaining as any in all of Formula 1.
Grand Prix Tours is proud to once again offer an unforgettable experience at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Our exclusive travel package includes 3- or 4-night accommodations in the heart of Budapest, along with convenient airport and track transfers to ensure a seamless race weekend.
Each guest receives our signature client package, featuring:

Located on the Danube river the city of Budapest is quite literally split down the middle by Europe’s second longest water way. Perhaps most well-known as the City of Baths, Budapest has hundreds of bubbling hot springs and baths that can be found throughout the city. The Széchenyi Thermal Bath is the city’s largest, most grand, busiest and first thermal bath complex. Forgetting your swim wear is not recommended.
With the circuit located just outside of the city limits guests will enjoy the close proximity and the additional time to be able to explore this unique city. While exploring be sure to pop into a Ruin Bar for a drink and a very unique experience. These bars can be found all over the city but many are located in the Jewish quarter and are basically pop-bars in derelict buildings that offer dirt cheap prices, inventive art installations and delicious snacks. Just be sure not to cheers with beer while you are there. Apparently after Hungary’s revolution was suppressed by the Austrians they celebrated their victory in Vienna by toasting and clinking beer all over. Hungarians, in defiance, vowed never to toast with a beer glass for 150 years. Though more than 170 years have passed many have still not given up the tradition. You can still clink any other drink you like, but just make sure to lock eyes with your fellow clinker after toasting.
Outside of thermal baths and ruin bars the city has a staggering number of tourist attractions that include historical, architectural and natural attractions. Located just across the river from our chosen accommodation’s guests will find the Buda Castle which is the historical castle and palace complex of the Hungarian kings in Budapest. Not far from our hotel guests will find the Hungarian National Museum the national museum for the history, art and archaeology of Hungary.
Of course, these are just a few of the many attractions and experiences that make Budapest a great city to visit. If you have questions about this trip please do not hesitate to give us a call. Guests of Grand Prix Tours joining us at the Hungarian Grand Prix can expect a superb race weekend experience and a brilliant host city to explore while not at the track.
Race tickets are not included with your hotel package. Please check the "Race Tickets" tab for ticket options.
