The 24 hour endurance race in Le Mans France is by far the most the most incredible sports car event in the world. Nearly all the major car makers in the world have entered and pitted their skills against others with the same idea. Le Mans is set in the French countryside just a couple of hours outside Paris by TGV, France’s 180 mph trains.
Interest in the 2023 Le Mans 24 Hour race has been huge! Below are some of the exciting changes expected for the 2023 Le Mans 24 Hour race:
Many world-famous auto manufacturers are announcing programs to either return to Le Mans or start a program of some kind. The new Hypercar Class has opened doors for big manufacturers to start new programs and for small Scuderia’s to challenge them.
Rumored Dodge Entry
Executives are currently debating whether to make the move, but if it happens, expect to see Dodge run their IMSA car in Le Mans.
Toyota Challengers
2023 will be far more challenging. With the LmH and LmDh cars combining in 2023 to make one big class, there will be plenty of competition for Toyota.
Return of Cadillac
Cadillac is expected to debut its car for the LMDH class in Spring 2023.
Return of Ferrari
All that Ferrari has released is an official statement announcing their return for the 2023 season, but no real car has been shown yet.
Glickenhaus Revamped
Glickenhaus is a small American designer who debuted in Le Mans racing in 2021. They finished last in the Hypercar class, out beat by Peugeot and the dominant Toyota. Though it’s doubtful they’ll pose much of a serious threat to Toyota you can’t help but root for the small American underdogs.
Return of The Audi and Porsche Rivalry
Both brands are owned by VW but use very different engines, chassis, and drivers in the race. The return of these two won’t exactly be easy though. Both companies have announced delays in their program. Hopefully, these won’t prevent them from making it to the starting line in 2023
LMdH Class
LMP1 went away in 2021 due to low manufacturer participation and the massive price tags attached. So what took the top spot at Le Mans? LMH also known as Hypercars. These cars are based on the top-of-the-line IMSA racing class. Cars can’t make more than 670 horsepower and must weigh less than 2,200 lbs.
NASCAR’s Return
NASCAR is taking advantage of the “Garage 56” rule in 2023 and entering a Chevy Camaro NASCAR into the race. Garage 56 allows one company a year to enter a car that might not be competitive or fit into a certain racing class, For 2023 NASCAR was able to secure the spot and their return to Le Mans.
They come in their thousands from the four corners of the world following their teams with great expectations. Some staying in expensive luxurious Chateaux while others come with a tent and toothbrush in hand. Many stay up for the twenty four hours, while others helicopter back to their luxury accommodations during the short night. Hotels are hard to find, yet Grand Prix Tours has a mix of options that are reasonably priced and certainly more than comfortable. If you want to stay all night we have a hospitality location where you can stay, or we will take you back to the hotel. Want to check out the other side of the track, no problem we have a van to take you. Helicopter rides around the track…yes, we can organize that.
We stay in the fabulous town of Tours in the Loire Valley, among the famed chateau that French royalty built for their excesses, and the vineyards for which the French are so famous. Delightful French cuisine, champagne and wine, a plate of cheese with maybe ten different types and taste, and you have to try the crepes and Grand Marnier at the track. Delicious.
Stay a little longer and visit the Loire Valley, a taste of wine here, a chateau there, a gourmet dinner in Tours in the beautiful historic area. You will not be disappointed. Your hotel is the Oceania Hotel L`Univers, not new, but with lots of character from its 150 year existences of looking after the rich and famous. It has recently been renovated, but has lost none of its historic flair.
Expect to hear more in the coming months and keep an eye out for things that change between now and then. So, get out your calendar and clear the second Saturday in June and join Grand Prix Tours at the 2023 Le Mans 24 Hour race.
Hotel Oceania L'Univers is situated in the heart of the tourist and shopping district and combines old-world charm with contemporary, up-to-date facilities. Just steps from the hotel on the beautiful tree lined streets you'll find many shops, restaurants and side-street cafes.
This 4 star hotel has been the most prestigious address in Tours since 1846. The frescoes in the lobby of this famous gallery depict 44 of the most illustrious celebrities who have been guests at the Hotel.
Executive rooms are 269 sq ft with the charm of antique furniture in tones of dove grey, a contemporary chandelier, suspended from a ceiling with a height of over 3 meters, magnifies the space. The colorful covering with plant motifs in shades of red and pink or blue and violet dresses the headboard and enhances the furniture. The room's most charming feature is the original bathroom window which has been preserved and opens onto the bedroom. Enjoy the quality quilts and mattresses, air conditioning, flat screen TV, safety box and Nespresso machine. Bathrooms are equipped with a spacious Italian-style walk-in shower, hair dryer, towel dryer and products from the luxurious Rituals range, combining the sparkling scent of sweet orange with the stimulating properties of cedar wood.
For your convenience, this lovely hotel also has a pool, jacuzzi, fitness room, restaurant and bar.
The perfect place to stay!

Le Mans is the most amazing sports car race in the world, however there is a lack of good hotels and interesting places to visit close to the circuit. Staying in Tours with its fabulous Chateaux and vineyards in the Loire Valley is an obvious choice. We know you came for the race but spend a couple of days to explore this wonderful part of the world. The Gothic Cathedral and the superb gardens of tours should not be missed.
Nestled between the Loire and the Cher rivers lies the historic City of Tours famed for its Old City. Unique to the Old City are its preserved medieval half-timbered buildings and la Place Plumereau, a square with busy pubs and restaurants. The restaurants use the open-air tables that fill the center of the square offering dinner with freshly grown produce which will make you want to come back for more. Try the local wine and cheeses, every farm in the region makes its own cheese, and the wine is world renowned, they make a wonderful combination.
