Get ready to join Grand Prix Tours at the only Formula 1 race in the United States, the United States Grand Prix. Race fans will enjoy this amazing circuit that ranks among the best racing circuits in the world. The host city of Austin is always entertaining and is certainly the closest destination for US race fans on the calendar.
The Circuit of the Americas is located just a short drive from downtown Austin Texas. This 3.426 mile or 5.513 Kilometer track has been home to the United States Grand Prix since 2012. The circuit features a total of 20 turns; 11 to the left and 9 to the right. There is an elevation change of more than 100 feet or 30 meters throughout the course of 1 lap. Much of the elevation change happening at the dramatic turn 1. This 10-story uphill left hander plateaus then drops drivers back down into a series of turns, known as the S’s, that are some of the most challenging high speed turns the drivers will face all season. It comes as no surprise that the Circuit of the Americas is one of the most favored tracks among drivers and fans alike.
The 2019 U.S.G.P. fell under a cold snap with temperatures dropping to near freezing over night at the track. Fortunately, the temperatures improved as the race weekend progressed. After the completion of qualifying we saw a mix of the top teams with Valtteri Bottas taking pole position, Sebastian Vettel in 2nd and Max Verstappen in the 3rd. As the race begun the leaders were unusually clean through turn one. It was Charles Leclerc struggling on the opening lap allowing Hamilton to take the fourth position. The opening laps saw a great battle between the Ferrari teammates until Sebastian Vettel had a suspension failure on the 8th lap knocking him out of the race. From there it is was a battle between Mercedes team drivers exchanging the lead of the race several times. The race also showcased the best of the rest as the 2 McLarens and the 2 Renaults found themselves once again battling top teams and finishing in the top 10. In the end, the race win would go to Valtteri Bottas as he took the lead from teammate Lewis Hamilton on lap 52 and would not relinquish the lead from then on. The race may have gone to Valtteri but the day went to Lewis Hamilton as his second place finish ensured his place atop the 2019 driver world championship, marking his 6th World Championship as a driver.

All of our chosen hotel accommodations are in downtown Austin and are conveniently located to Austin’s famous 6th street entertainment district. This historic street is made up of restaurants, bars and live music venues and is the city’s cultural and entertainment center.
Not for the faint of heart but also not far from our hotel accommodations is Austin’s Congress Avenue Bridge also known as Austin’s Bat Bridge. From March through October every evening about 20 minutes before sundown roughly 1.5 million bats emerge from under the Congress Avenue bridge. This natural wonder is truly a sight to be seen. Recommended viewing locations are directly on the bride or on the hillside across the river from the city. When getting this close you will want to be mindful of the droppings that may occur. Perhaps a restaurant or bar with a good view of the bridge is the best place to watch this nightly ritual.
Austin plays a wonderful host to Formula 1 fans every year. There is no shortage of fun and interesting activities to do while not at the track. Addition nights in Austin are always recommended as the schedule for the race weekend leaves little time to explore the city properly. As if enjoying a Formula 1 race with a backdrop of Austin is not enough, we bring you our F1 Celebrity Talk Show. This event will be held at the Fairmont and cocktails will be served.
David Coulthard and Karun Chandhok, Sky Sports F1 race commentator joined us last year and we had a great evening getting to know about the life of a Formula 1 driver.
David has driven for Williams F1, McLaren and Red Bull during his driving career in F1 from 1994-2008, and during that time has finished 2nd and 3rd in the "World Drivers Championship". Now a presenter, commentator, journalist and Mercedes Brand Ambassador and very much still involved in the works of Formula One. Davids experience and humor was enjoyed by all!
Last year we were excited to bring you a new host for Grand Prix Tours, Karun Chandhok.
A multiple race winner and podium finisher in GP2, Karun was a test driver for the Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team in 2007 and 2008, before going on to race in Formula 1 for Hispania Racing and Team Lotus in 2010 and 2011 respectively.
Since 2012, he has been competing in Sportscars, finishing in the top 6 in class at Le Mans in 2012, 2013 and 2015. Karun also joined Mahindra Racing for the all new Formula E series, in 2014-2015.
Karun was born into a motor racing family where his father, grandfather and even grandmother used to race! After winning the Indian National Championship on debut in 2000, he won the Formula Asia Championship in 2001 before moving to England where he was a front-runner in Formula 3. Karun went back to Asia and won the Asian Renault V6 series in 2006, which served as a launch pad up to GP2 and then Formula 1.
More recently he worked with Sky Sports F1 in the UK and BeIN Sports in Qatar and in 2016 joined the team at Channel 4 in the UK for their Formula 1 broadcast. He is a regular columnist for the world's leading motorsport magazine, Autosport.

About Peter Windsor:
Peter Windsor joined Williams full-time in 1985 as Manager of Sponsorship and Public Affairs but switched to Ferrari in 1989 to manage their UK F1 facility. He then returned to Williams as Team Manager in 1991, winning both the Constructors' and Drivers' World Championships. Peter has hosted Grand Prix Tours events since 1993.
Turning to TV, Peter reported for Sky Sports, and Fox Sports Net as their F1 specialist in 1998. He presented F1 on TV working for Speedvision, SpeedTV, HD1 (Australia) and FOM TV. Peter was Grand Prix Editor of F1 Racing magazine and today is the F1 columnist not only for Japan's biggest selling motoring weekly magazine, AutoSport, but also for the world's largest on-line racing magazine, GPWeek. He also hosts of the ground-breaking 60min F1 webcast weekly chat show, The Flying Lap; and is a regular contributor to SpeedTV.com.

These seats are uncovered reserved seats located in the lower levels of the turn 1 grandstand. Guests should be prepared for an uphill hike to this grandstand. This ticket also allows access to all of the food and beverage stands directly behind the seating area as well as access into the Velocity Lounge with couches, TV's and full cash bar.
