Description of the Courses

The Broadmoor`s East Course is known for its wide, tree-lined fairways and expansive greens. With its challenging terrain and amazing mountain vistas, The East Course is ranked among the best golf courses in the country. Since the large trees can alter your shots and the putting greens difficult to read, the best tip we can offer for those taking on this open course is to remember that putts break away from the mountains.

Spencer Penrose contacted legendary golf course architect Donald Ross in 1916 to design an 18-hole golf course for the magnificent property he was dreaming up. When completed in 1918, The Broadmoor`s East Course was the highest golf course in the United States at 6,400 feet in elevation and Ross declared it his `best work`. The East Course is now a combination of the original Donald Ross design mixed with holes designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. in 1952.

The East Course has been home to many major tournaments, including the 1959 U.S. Amateur (which was Jack Nicklaus` first major win), the 1967 U.S. Amateur, and the 1995 U.S. Women`s Open, which was Annika Sorenstam`s first major title. Most recently, the famous course served as the host to the 2008 U.S. Senior Open and the 2011 U. S. Women`s Open Championship.

Get ready for rolling fairways, multi-level greens, and demanding hazards at the stunning yet formidable West Course. At 6,800 feet, this 18-hole course has more doglegs and steeply-angled greens than the East Course, and offers breathtaking views of both the mountains and Colorado Springs.
The West Course plays tighter off the tee, with more heavily tree-lined holes than the East Course, and also gives players an array of spectacular approach shots. Don`t let the stunning mountain views distract you; our West Course may look like a postcard, but it offers a very challenging and rewarding round of golf.

A combination of the original 1918 Donald Ross design and the Robert Trent Jones, Sr. 1964 design, the West Course offers our guests a challenging course with spectacular views. The West Course was the host site of the 1998 PGA Cup Matches.

After undergoing renovations by Nicklaus Design, the Mountain Course was reopened in July 2006 and plays to a maximum of 7,700 yards, par 72. This beautifully designed course features wide, forgiving fairways and large greens with beautiful mountain vistas, ideal for a range of skill levels and handicaps.

In 1959, Jack Nicklaus won his first national title and first major championship, the US Amateur Championship, on the links at The Broadmoor. Forty-nine years later, his company, Nicklaus Design, brings the legacy full circle, with a redesign of one of the most beloved Broadmoor golf venues, the Mountain Course. Working in collaboration with Nicklaus Design, a wonderfully scenic and playable golf course has been created that blends seamlessly with the Broadmoor`s other award-winning courses.

Day 1:

Upon arrival into Colorado Springs, make your way to The Broadmoor. If requested we can make Limousine service available or make arrangements for larger groups. After checking in, relax at the Broadmoor or dine in the onsite restaurant. Meet with your friends in the evening.

Day 2 and Day 3:

Breakfast is included daily. Relax until your tee time. If the foursome arrangement is used, you will be playing on one of four courses. In the evening we can make arrangements for dinner at one of the eighteen resort restaurants. Dependent on the group size it may be advisable to split the group into multiples of four. For example a group of 48 could play at similar times with groups of three foursomes playing on different courses. This would bring the whole group together for an afternoon of VIP add-ons.

Day 4:

After breakfast, make your way to the airport or your car for your trip home. If the dates on this program do not fit your schedule, or the length of the program is too long or short, we will send you an exclusive proposal to fit your requirements.
