The United States Grand Prix has been held at more locations than the Grand Prix of any other country, but with Indianapolis being the home of American racing, it`s only natural that it became the headquarters for the United States Grand Prix. In 2000, the World Championship returned to the Speedway for a full-fledged round of a truly International series. The 2.606-mile course uses approximately one mile of the storied oval, but in a clockwise direction. The combination of the banked oval turns, 3000-meter straight and twisty infield sections makes this race an exciting one in it`s own right. The tremendous crowd of over 250,000, the largest ever to view a GP at the inaugural event marked the beginning of a new era for the US Grand Prix.
The United States Grand Prix is an event with it`s own character, and an essential excursion for any true race fan. It not only allows you the opportunity to see this great race, but also to see the speedway and a part of America`s motor racing heritage. In 2004, don`t pass up your chance to visit the "Racing Capital of the World" and take part in one of the most famed motor racing events in Formula One.
