The Turkish Grand Prix made its debut as part of the F1 season in 2005, and has been a big hit ever since. The race is held at the newly built Istanbul Park Circuit, only the third anti-clockwise circuit on the Formula One calendar. Istanbul itself is a very enchanting city, bound on the north and south by two seas, the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara. The western half of the city lies in Europe while the eastern half is situated in Asia- making it the only metropolis in the world situated on two continents. There is so much to see and do in Istanbul… dining, shopping, history and sightseeing… this is the race to be in 2009!
