The Malaysian government decided to build not only a new airport and hotel but also a Formula One Grand Prix track. For the fans, Sepang is the nearest thing to nirvana you will find this side of the International Date Line. The grandstands provide panoramic views of the action and are covered - all-important for those warm tropical downpours. In the background, the profile of KL shimmers in the haze.
